"description": "This WAD contains a single detailed map set in a hydroelectric dam facility with interconnected sewers and catacombs. The level features a moderate monster presence including berserk marines and Hell denizens, with a notable puzzle element involving a combination lock in the sewers. Resource distribution appears balanced, supporting exploration and combat without extreme scarcity. The environment combines industrial and underground themes, emphasizing a linear progression through the base and into subterranean tunnels. Designed for DOOM2, it is compatible with vanilla and Boom engines. The map reflects a focused, medium-scale experience with a mix of combat and puzzle-solving.",

I review\n both games and game soundtracks.\n\nMisc. Author Info : 18 year old from Collegeville, PA. This is my\n first WAD that I felt was good enough to be\n released (or that I even finished). Hey! Anyone\n still there? Hello?!\n\nOther WADs by author : CONTROL1.WAD - A DM level where you have a great\n deal of control over where your opponent can go.\n\nWhy I'm not making : I DON'T HAVE WINDOWS 95!!! AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!\n Quake levels (QUEST doesn't work on my system.) :(\n\nMisc. Level Info : This level started as a sort of homage to E1M7,\n the computer lab of Doom1. I loved that level\n (and I really HATED most of episodes 2 and 3.\n Just me, I guess). Anyway, after developing\n the story, I began to see level 14 as a base for\n a much larger WAD (UAC_DAM.WAD), which I may or\n may not ever finish (About half of its seven levels\n are completed). Seeing as I may never finish what\n I consider my masterpiece, I've decided to release\n this, the first of the seven levels. It's got\n what I think is one of the coolest Doom puzzles\n ever, in the form of a \"combination lock\" in the\n sewers. Check it out.\n In my opinion it's the little details that\n make all the difference, and there's plenty of them.\n You'll see. I hope you like it. If you have time\n drop me a line and tell me what you think.\n I love getting feedback.\n\nDescription : UAC has called you in to save their collective ass\n once again. Seems some troops stationed at their\n (This is the story Rio hydroelectric plant have gone berserk and\n for the all of the (with the help of a few dozen denizens of Hell)\n seven levels, not have taken over the plant. The blueprints that\n just the first.) the UAC suits show you during the briefing reveal\n that in addition to the main dam, there's a sewer,\n vault (?), and storage area in the facility. More\n interesting, there's a vast network of tunnels\n and chambers within the mountain that the base was\n built into. UAC believes that whatever caused the\n marines to go berserk originated within these\n catacombs.\n \"Your mission is to infiltrate the base and purge\n the invasion force. Once the dam facility is\n secured, descend into the catacombs and destroy\n whatever it is that's in there. If you survive,\n find a way out of the mountain and signal for\n pickup.\"\n \"That's all?\" you smirk. \"Easy money.\"\n The suit doesn't smile. You're dropped into the heart of the\n complex, and your mission begins...\n\nAdditional Credits to : My good friend Sam Rensimer for testing and ideas\n The author of Mountkng, for his excellent waterfall\n (These are the credits textures\n for all of the seven Lee Jackson of ROTT fame for Smooth.MID (level 14)\n levels, not just the Chant.MID (level 15), Radagio.MID (level 17)\n first.) and Kissoff.MID (level 32)\n Ken Hukushi for Gothic.MID (level 16) and the\n neat stained glass window texture\n The (anonymous) creator of the cool sky texture\n (sometimes) seen in level 32 (see below)\n The (also anonymous) author of Space.WAD, whose\n glass texture I modified\n Rumiko Takahashi for Lum\n The authors of DCK, NWT, DEEPBSP, Midi2Mus, TED\n and Neopaint\n id Software... you know why\n================================================================\n\n* Play Information *\n\nGame : DOOM II\nEpisode and Level # : Maps 14\nSingle Player : Yes!\nCooperative 2-4 Player : Yes\nDeathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes\nDifficulty Settings : Yes (see additional notes, below)\nNew Sounds : No (I like the standard Doom sfx)\nNew Graphics : Yes, mouthfuls\nNew Music : Yes, scads\nDemos Replaced : None\n\n* Construction *\n\nBase : All are new levels from scratch\nEditor(s) used : DCK v2.2 NWT v1.2 DEEPBSP v4.0 Neopaint v2.2a\n TED v1.2\n Little anecdote: About halfway through the\n development of these levels, I got DCK v3.2, which\n I had eagerly awaited. After playing with it for\n about an hour, I was shocked. It was crap! There\n were so many little annoying bugs it was amazing\n that they weren't caught and fixed. In fact, I\n almost lost my first level to its evil node\n builder. And to top it all off, features that\n worked in v2.2 were crippled in this one. With\n all due respect to Ben Morris, (who, after all,\n made the awesome v2.2) I can't believe he let\n that.. that beast be released. It looks like I'll\n be sticking with 2.2 for a while now, until\n something comes out that surpasses it (which\n seems unlikely). What a shame. :(\nBuild Time : At least, oh, 100 hours (can you see why I never\n finished the other levels? I'm too damn\n meticulous!)\nKnown Bugs : Nothing that will detract from the level,\n except that it might be a bit slow at times\n on anything less than a P100... :(\n\n* Copyright / Permissions *\n\nAuthors MAY NOT use this level as a base to build additional\nlevels. You may distribute this file in any electronic\nformat (BBS, Diskette, etc.) as long as you include this file\nintact.\n\nNote: Please contact me if you wish to put this WAD in a CD-ROM collection.\n\n* Where to get this WAD *\n\nFTP Sites: ftp.cdrom.com\n\nBut now it's probably on your hard drive. Go play it.........Now.\nActually, wait a sec and read below.\n\n* Additional Notes *\n\nIf you're a serious Doom player you'll play UV. However, lower difficulty\nlevels are implemented if you're really having a bad day.\n\nThere's a secret cyberdemon you can unleash on level 14 if you're feeling\nparticularly evil in an UV net game (hopefully DM where ammo respawns :)).\nJust go into the tiny little polygonally shaped room where the blue key is\nand fire a weapon (or just punch if you're really cheap). A cyberdemon\nwill awaken and warp into the level to wreck havoc.\n\nSometimes the combination lock in the level 14 sewers malfunctions (because\nit's so old :)) and won't work correctly. This happens if you run around\ntoo much and/or hit the buttons too fast. Solution: input the correct\nsequence a bit more slowly. Personally, I check the map to see if the\npath is open before dashing back out into the sewers. (Don't worry if\nnone of this made sense, you'll see what I mean when you get there.)\n\n* Hints *\n\nYou might not want to read further...\n\n.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n.\n\nI see you've disregarded my first hint... :)\n\n* Level 14 - UAC Dam Facility *\n\nAfter visiting the vault, check the room where you started for anything\nthat may have changed.\n\nThere are many secrets (well, 3) that are only given away by the sound\nof a door opening and closing. If you don't hear it, you'll most\nlikely miss the secrets. If you find a door that just won't open, try\nwalking around in the general area. Perhaps you'll trip the linedef that\nopens it...\n\nThere are no places inaccessible to the player. If you can't get in\nsomewhere, try doing everything else possible in the level (switches, etc.)\nand then coming back.\n\nThere are many secret areas in the Facility, and all have clues like\ndifferent lighting or unusual thing placement to reveal their locations.\nExcept for one... but it's a given that you're supposed to try to walk\ninto waterfalls, right? ;)\n\nOK, NOW go play it..."
