"title": "Villa of Death",
"description": "Villa of Death is a single-map deathmatch WAD featuring a square, single-story house with a central courtyard and surrounding garden. The map emphasizes close-quarters combat with plentiful shotguns, super-shotguns, and chainguns, while rocket launchers and rockets are scarce. Unique mechanics include a dynamic waterfall that lowers to reveal powerful weapons and bonuses, teleporting players near opponents, and a Wardrobe of Death sniper spot with risk-reward gameplay. The layout supports teleport navigation between courtyard and exterior areas, encouraging telefrag tactics. Designed for DOOM2, it offers a compact, intense multiplayer experience with balanced resources and a techbase/house theme.",

"contents": "================================================================\nTitle : Villa of Death\nFilename : DTHVILLA.WAD\nAuthor : Martin Cox\nEmail Address : mcox@indy.net\nMisc. Author Info : I'm 16, and have been an avid gamer for about 12\n of those (I started out on Parachute on the ZX\n Spectrum!). I've been playing DOOM since only a\n month after its release, and I'm pretty hot by now.\n Since then, I've blown an alarming portion of the\n last two years of my life playing DOOM and building\n levels and patches for it. My complete \"By Same\n Author\" list is below.\n\n Other: I'm English, live in France and America, and\n out of everyone I've ever played, 4 can give me a\n hard time, and only two of those can beat me with\n any regularity. OK, so I've never exactly played\n anyone like NoSkill...\nDescription : The Villa of Death is a Deathmatch level. It is a\n square single-story house, nicely stocked with\n shotguns and chainguns, with some ammo, health,\n armour, and other stuff. In the centre of the\n level is a courtyard, and around the rest of the\n house is a large garden. There are about 13\n deathmatch starts, and all players appear near, if\n not on, a weapon, none larger than the rocket\n launcher. The exception is the person who spawns\n in the 13th spot, who is near a Soul Sphere, Combat\n Armour, Plasma Gun, and BFG. Unfortunately for him,\n he can only get one of them, the poor bugger...\n\n In the centre of the level is a pool. In the\n middle of that is a large waterfall. As people\n move around in the house, parts of the waterfall\n lower. When they do, run in, and you can grab a\n gun or bonus (available are the Plasma Gun, BFG,\n Soul Sphere, or Combat Armour, you can only get one\n depending on which section opened for you), and once\n you grab it you will be teleported somewhere near an\n opponent. There are four possible landing points,\n one in each quarter of the villa.\n\n The main weapons in Villa of Death are shotguns,\n super-shotguns, and chainguns. Rocket launchers\n are there, but few and far between, plus there are\n only 9 available rockets (including backpacks and\n launchers), so don't go wild with them.\n\n Another feature is the Wardrobe of Death. You\n climb in, and you will find a backpack and a small\n window. Open this window to snipe at anyone in the\n courtyard, and slam it shut when they try to shoot\n back. Although this sounds like a good setup, a\n black arrow will appear when you enter the Wardrobe,\n pointing at you. This will give anyone running\n past an easy frag; all they need to do is pop the\n door and blast you in the back. Charming. And if\n they get you just right, you may even fly through\n the window! Be careful when sniping with rockets,\n as the hole closes often, and firing while it's\n closed will end with you blowing your own fragging\n head off.\n\n Around the villa are eight teleporters that take\n you between the central courtyard and the outside.\n This gives plenty of opportunity for telefragging\n (the best way to frag!). There are 12 doors into\n the villa, 8 from the courtyard and 4 from outside,\n and there are also lots of windows to snipe through.\n Watch out that you don't get whacked from behind\n while sniping, though. The level is devoid of\n furniture, to allow you to run around better, and\n secrets, apart from the waterfall, are non-existant.\n This should make the level mildly playable. Have\n fun, and mail me with praise, comments, or (gulp)\n constructive critism.\nAdditional Credits to : Me (sole designer/builder)\n All my targets, er, playtesters.\n The usual guys, like those who wrote the editors\n and of course the game.\n\n================================================================\n\n* Play Information *\n\nMap # : Map 1\nSingle Player : No\nCooperative 2-4 Player : No, non, nein, and niet!\nDeathmatch 2-4 Player : YES!!!\nDifficulty Settings : What use in Deathmatch?\nNew Sounds : The occasional one\nNew Graphics : One or two\nNew Music : Of course\nDemos Replaced : None.
