I don't know why, it kinda came out of nowhere. This\nis odd because I've never been a Hexen fan. I played it all the\nway through when it was first released (whenever that was) and I\nhaven't looked at it since. Of course, the upshot of this is that\nI am completely unfamiliar with the weapons and the monsters.\nI figured the best thing to do was build something small so that\nI could start to familiarise myself with these various elements.\n\n A few seconds later (it was one of those days) I decided it would\nbe better to convert one of my smaller doom2 maps to hexen, saving\nme building time, so that I could get straight to the experimentation\nwith the monsters/weapons/pickup items.\n\n 'Deleted Scene' seemed the obvious choice. It was a small map and\nit's textures and architecture seemed more appropriate to hexen\nthan many of my other doom designs.\n\n ...So this is the result. Is it balanced? Probably not, but it's\ncertainly playable. I've decided to release it on the off chance\nthat wad-starved hexen fans with 10 minutes to waste may enjoy it.\n\n I really enjoyed putting this together, although a better term\nwould be 'throwing this together'. The whole process of texture\nconversion and item/monster placement only took up an evening,\nwhich is a refreshing change to something like Decade (which\nwas a 6 month marathon to build). I must admit that I'm now\nsorely tempted to convert Null Space into a Hexen map. But if\nI do I'll spend a lot more time on it than I spent on this.\n\n The original Deleted Scene used a number of hexen texture patches.\nRather than search around in the hexen iwad for the appropriate\npatches and making textures from them to match the textures names in\nmy original level, I decided to just dump them out of my original\nlevel, convert them to the hexen palette and then load them into the\nhexen version of my level. I mainly did this because the end result\nwas a lighter patch than the hexen original.
