"description": "This WAD contains a single custom map designed to demonstrate a sound propagation bug in the Acorn RISC OS port of Doom 2. The map is small and simple, featuring 12 monsters and 10 sectors, with no new graphics or sounds. It highlights how sound-blocking linedefs incorrectly limit enemy alertness, making the level impossible to complete on affected engines. The environment uses a mix of standard Doom 2 textures including stone, metal, and techbase floors, with a linear progression focused on a single puzzle involving enemy alertness. The WAD is compatible with Doom 2 and does not introduce new gameplay mechanics or difficulty settings.",

Wait a minute,\n why are you reading this rubbish?\nDescription : This WAD demonstrates a bug in the\n Acorn RISC OS port of Doom. The bug\n exists at least in version 2.03 but\n may exist in other versions too.\n Normally, enemies in connected sectors\n are alerted by the sound of the player\n firing a weapon. Sound is supposed to\n travel across up to one two-sided\n linedef with the 'block sounds' flag\n set, but not a second linedef with\n this flag set (nor closed doors or\n raised lifts).\n In Acorn Doom, sounds instead travel\n no further than the first connected\n sector entered via a linedef that has\n its 'block sounds' flag set. This\n changes the game significantly because\n it prevents enemies in more distant\n sectors from being alerted to the\n player's presence. This map\n demonstrates the bug by being\n impossible to complete in Acorn Doom.\n The exit door can only be opened from\n the far side by an alerted enemy.\n Despite the air duct linking the two\n rooms, troopers on the far side cannot\n hear the player (because the linedef\n at the near end of the duct has its\n 'block sounds' flag set).\nAdditional Credits to : Anthony J.
