However,\n This time, I pushed the game-engine while\n paying close attention to shading,\n lighting and texture choices. The size of\n this WAD as a raw-copy (before music,\n graphics, etc) was 168k! I think you'll\n appreciate the extra work when you play\n The Lost WAD #4 and it earns and\n permanant home on your floppy discs!\n\nStory : The phone rang at 3:23 awakening you from\n your nightmares. \"Hurry, hurry! Those\n bastards did it again!\" the voice on the\n other line screamed. Then it got silent.\n \"Good God!\" you exclaim, \"Must I always\n bail the earth out?\" You remember how you\n almost didn't make it out the last time.\n Looking out the window at the green haze\n blanketing the sky you wonder if you will\n this time...\n\nFiles in zip : tlw_4.WAD, tlw_4.txt, tlw_4.bat,\n tag, & doom_2.gif\n\nAdditional Credits to : Tranquil Lament Software for free promotion\n of this and previous WADs. id Software for\n the games I lost my conventional job for!\n========================================================================\n* Play Information *\n\nGame : Level #1 of Doom II\nSingle Player : Yes, designed for that!\nCooperative 2-4 Player : Yes\nDeathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes\nDifficulty Settings : Yes, they're implemented!\nNew Sounds : Yes\nNew Graphics : Yes\nNew Music : Yes, as ALL The Lost WADs do!\nDemos Replaced :\n========================================================================\n\n* Construction *\n\nBase : A new level from scratch.\nBuild time : Over one year (off and on)!\nEditor(s) used : Deth, Waded 1.83, Wintex 3.4, Mustool,\n DoomED 4.20 & RMB!\nKnown Bugs : None! I wouldn't release it if it had any!\n\n* Copyright / Permissions *\n\nAuthors MAY NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels due\nto the fact of the time that went into the creation of this WAD! Previous\nLost WADs allow this right.\n\nYou MAY distribute this WAD, provided you include all parts included in\nthis file (this text, as well) with NO modifications! Actually, I wish\nyou would.\n\nYou MAY distribute this file in any electronic format (BBS, Diskette, CD,\nonline service, etc) as long as you include this file intact as stated. If\nchosen for inclusion on a CD-ROM, it would be nice to be e-mailed with\ninstructions on how to obtain a copy of the completed project (except for\nftp.cdrom.com and it's mirrors)!\n\nDue to past theft of my efforts this is the first WAD to bear a\ncopyright by me:\n\nCopyright 1997 Jeromy John Visser\n\n* Where to get this WAD *\n\nAOL: AOL does NOT carry game add-ons anymore! If they did, DPS would\nhave never been created. However, a big thanks to ftp.aol.com for\nmirroring this and past work!\n\nFTP: ftp.cdrom.com and its mirrors world-wide!\n\nWEB: This, and past WADs, are all over the World-Wide-Wait, look for it!\n\nVarious: This WAD is available from your hard-drive or dusty floppies!\nFrom your best friend, your spouse or by e-mail!\n\n========================================================================\nThe following information is taken from our \"tag\" included in this file:\n========================================================================\n*Who are The Doom Preservation Society?*\n-The Doom Preservation Society is a group of game players who\nwant to preserve the game ideas behind \"Doom\" and \"Doom II\"\n(as well as Heretic, Hexen, Final Doom and Quake).\n-The DPS accepts ALL files relating to Doom and Doom II. With\nAmerica Online and many other ISP's refusing game add-ons we\nwould like to be a secondary outlet for authors.\n-DPS treasures technology but loves the \"virgin\" scare we\nall felt the first time with Doom. If interested in submitting\nwork to DPS for review or want to submit work for our projects\ncontact via e-mail address below.\n\n*Who is Tranquil Lament Software?*\n-Tranquil Lament Software offers, collects and distributes\nthird party add-ons for various 3-D Games. TLS only accepts\nthe best for CD-Rom publication!\n-In addition to add-ons TLS accepts various programs.\n-Latest work include \"The Lost Wads\" for Doom II (First\n4 levels available at ftp.cdrom.com under tlw_1.zip, tlw_2.zip,\ntlw_3.zip and tlw_4.zip) featuring new music and graphics for Doom II.\n\nContact: tl_software@juno.com\n========================================================================\nGENERAL PARAMETERS\n========================================================================\n-LOADGAME allows you to start DOOM II from a specified save\ngame. Instead of using the saved game name, simply enter the\nnumber that corresponds to the slot you saved the game to on\nthe SAVE GAME screen (0-5).\n-loadgame <# of the game>\n\n-DEATHMATCH starts DOOM II as a DeathMatch game. If you don't\nenter DEATHMATCH as a command line parameter, DOOM II will\ndefault to the Cooperative mode.\n-deathmatch\n\n-ALTDEATH specifies respawning items during DEATHMATCH.\nNOTE: Invulnerability and Invisibility do not respawn.\n-deathmatch -altdeath\n\n-SKILL sets the skill level (1-5) you wish to play. Only useful\nwith -warp -- see below.\n-skill <# of skill level>\n\n-CONFIG allows you to use your configuration file from any\ndirectory you choose. This is primarily for diskless workstations\nthat don't have a C: drive to save config information to. You\nneed to rename the default.cfg file created by the SETUP program\nto a directory and name of your choosing to avoid conflicts.\n-config <pathname> ex. -config f:\\DOOM2\\data\\myconfig.cfg\n\n-NOMONSTERS allows you to start playing with NO MONSTERS running\naround! This is great for DeathMatch where, really, the monsters\njust get in the way. Only useful with -warp -- see below.\n-nomonsters\n\n-NOJOY isn't what it sounds like. It just disables your joystick.\n-nojoy\n\n-NOMOUSE disables your mouse.\n-nomouse\n\n-NOSOUND turns off the sound while DOOM II is playing.\n-nosound\n\n-NOMUSIC turns off the music while DOOM II is playing.\n-nomusic\n\n-NOSFX turns off special effects sounds (like monsters growling,\nguns firing, etc.) while DOOM II is playing.\n-nosfx\n\n-PLAYDEMO runs a demo you've previously recorded, using -RECORD.\n-playdemo <filename>\n\n-RECORD tells DOOM II to record as a demo the game you are\nstarting. Demo files will be saved as <filename>.lmp.\n-record <filename>\n\n-MAXDEMO xxx If you want to record a demo bigger than 128k, use\nthis option. xxx will be the size (in kilobytes) of the demo.\nexample -MAXDEMO 1024 will record a 1 megabyte demo.\n-record <filename> -maxdemo xxx\n\n-RESPAWN tells DOOM II that, yes, you are Bad, and yes, you\nwant all the monsters to respawn around 8 seconds after you kill\nthem. The NIGHTMARE skill level already does this. Note that\nusing -respawn and -nomonsters at the same time is a dumb thing\nto do. Only useful with -warp -- see below.\n-respawn\n\n-TURBO xxx gives you a speed boost. This is great in DeathMatch!\nThe value xxx can be from 0 to 250. The other player(s) will be\nnotified of your speed increase! THIS IS CONSIDERED CHEATING\nIN SINGLE PLAYER MODE!\n-turbo xxx\n\n@<filename> will allow you to specify a Response file that DOOM II\nwill read additional command-line parameters from. For example,\ntyping 'DOOM2 @MYPARMS' will tell DOOM II to look in the MYPARMS file\nfor additional command-line parameters. The file format is simply\none parameter per line with a carriage return to terminate the line.\nEach parameter is typed exactly as you would type it on the DOS\ncommand-line.\n\n-FAST will make the monsters move and shoot up to 3 times faster,\njust as if you were playing in Nightmare mode, but without the\nrespawning. Only useful with -warp -- see below.\n-fast\n\n-TIMER <# of minutes> will make DOOM II exit the current level after\nthe specified amount of minutes, when it goes to the intermission.\nThis option is only useful in DeathMatch mode.\n-timer xxx\n\n-WARP <# of level> starts DOOM II out right at the level you specify.\nFor instance, to start at the first level, you'd type \"-warp 1\".\nThe following command-line parameters are ONLY available while using\nthe -WARP parameter: -fast, -nomonsters, -skill, -respawn.\n-warp xx\n\nAn example line for entering the above information would be:\nDOOM2 -loadgame 3 -deathmatch -skill 4 -timer 10\n\nTo use this WAD without the batch file, at the DOS prompt type:\nDOOM2 -FILE TLW_4.WAD\n========================================================================\n/END"
