I got drafted for id's project\n\"DOOM2: The Master Levels\" though, and having Id\nrelease four of my wads is about 666 times cooler<G>.\nThe remaining seven, now known as the CABAL series\ndidn't make it into that project, most of them due to\nthe deadline (I came into TML just as it was about to\nbe finished). After premiering on the coverdisks of\nPC Zone and GIGA they are now available to all you\nCIS & GAMESNET users.\n\nIf you like these wads and want some more of my\nstuff, together with the excellent wads of Jim Flynn,\nJohn \"Dr. Sleep\" Anderson, Tom Mustaine and\nChris Klie you can go and get The Master Levels when\nthey come out. Very likely they'll be the best wads\nyou have _ever_ played...\n\nSetting : Ok, here's the plot: Kick Butt!\nGripping, isn't it? In case you are a little more\ninto story-lines you can keep on reading <g>:\nThe plot in the intended episode was as follows:\n\n: You once were the biggest and baddest Cyber-demon\nto rule hell and you spear-headed the council that\ngoverned the underworld; \"the Cabal\". Betrayed by the\nother members you find yourself not only dismantled,\nbut also a victim of the utmost demonic humiliation:\nYou've been morphed into a human! Of course you're\nout for revenge and have to kick the other members of\nthe Cabal's butts one by one.\nThere's a short low-down on the story of each wad at\nthe end of this document (additional info).\n\nCredits : The whole of id Software for DOOM & DOOM II.\n: Andrew (& Mark) Cornes, Gregory \"Acoma\" Hyne,\nPeter \"Pete\" Ripley, David \"Macca\" Mccandless,\nJim F Flynn, Bj??rnar Johansen, Baard Zakariassen and\nStian Danielsen for playtesting, viewpoints,\nhelp, enthusiasm and for being mad bastards.\n: Oh, and Erling Paulsen for managing to convince me\nthat there was such a thing as a full fledged\nDoom-editor, back in early 94. Os!\n: A brand new BFG goes out to Geoff Allan (DOOMed),\nRaphael Quinet (DEU), Olivier Montanuy (DeuTex) and\nColin Reed (BSP) plus whoever put together idBSP.\nThese guys gave us tremendous tools of joy without\nclaiming a buck for it. Oh, and for including me in\n\"DOOM2: The Master Levels\" project.<G>\n: A humongous round of applause to those doom-players\nwho still play without cheating. I made these wads\nfor you guys! :)\n: Last but never least to all other WAD-designers who\nhave lost themselves in the worlds of tag numbers,\nupper textures and vertexes as badly as me. Quake\nwill be the end of what's left of our social lives.\n<G>\n\nDeathmatch\nbad-arse credits : Macca, Escher, Loki, Woof and Pete. You can\nwalk over my melted bodies anytime. I don't know all their names, but the names of\ntheir WADs should suffice. Hail the hall of fame:\n\"Nukemine\" (old I know, but the supreme numero uno\nat it's hayday)\n\"Castle of the Renegades\". Best castle-type wad I've\nseen.\n\"Eternity\"\n\"Dante's Gate\"\nThe secret level in the AlienDoom episode was groovy\nas well, and \"Cleimos\" had some nice touches.\nBuild Time : Don't ask, really! First baby steps at \"wadding\"\ntaken in the summer of 94. Almost dropped out of\nuniversity for this bloody obsession. One reason for\nsurviving was that I handed in a wad of my campus as\none of my projects. <G>\nI would guess that I on average spend about 130 hours\non each wad. And it's not because I work slow :)\nEditor(s) used : DoomED 4, DEU2, DETH, BSP1.2, idBSP and DEUTEX.\nBugs : No way. Once the players are fimiliar with the\nlevel it kicks b u t t, ala big time. Works well\nas a 1player as well.\n\n\"You have come upon one of the Cabal's blood-depoes.\nAn important element in any powerful black magic is\nhuge amounts of blood. Emptying the depoe's tanks\ninto the nearby river you will have struck your first\nblow against the Cabal.\"\n\n==============================================================================\n\nDerelict Station (map 02)\nCo-author: Greg \"Acoma\" Hyne\n\n: Should you tire of Bloodflood (What!?) then try\nthis smaller, even faster frag-machine on for size.\nQuite playable as a single game as well.\n\n\"Just having escaped the Sea of Blood you have sought\nout a derelict building in the search for arms &\nequipment. Unfortunately the station isn't as\nabandoned as you thought.\"\n\n==============================================================================\n\nThe Watchtower (map 04)\nCo-designer: Greg \"Acoma\" Hyne\n\n: Me and Greg wanted to do an awesome Deathmatch\nlevel but with all the ideas we had it kinda grew a\nlittle large <G>. Still very good if you have the\nincentive to learn it. Good for 3 & 4 player network.\n\n===============================================================================\n\nTemple of Death (map 05)\n\n:My first wad <blush>. Don't worry you won't have to\nstruggle with mis-aligned textures and collaged\ncolours, as I recently went over the thing and\npolished it a bit.\n\n===============================================================================\n\nWe who are About to Die (map 06)\n\n:Ok for Deathmatch but v e r y playable as one\nplayer, judging by the response of play-testers.\n\n\"The Cabal has started striking back at you. That\nlast gateway should have taken you... well somewhere\nelse. Not to an arena where thousands of humans have\nlost their souls to hungry demons. As you get ready\nfor the first wave of hellspawned gladiators you\nswear to blast the emperor's thumbs off before he can\neven think about turning them down on you...\"\n\n===============================================================================\n\nEye of the Storm (map 09)\n\n: Made the whole level design with the thought of one\nencounter only (you'll know wich one when you\nencounter it:). The level is an exercise in how to\ndodge and use the BFG to full effect. If big-weapon\nblasts are your thing in Deathmatch then you'll want to\nlive inside STORM.<G>\n\n\"You find yourself in the remains of an old forttress\nafter ascending a lift shaft from the mines where you\nwere trapped. Signs of unlife is evident but from\nwhat you know of this place it should pose no great\nthreat to you. It used to be the centre of a\nCacodemon empire that perished some 665 yeaes ago.\nOh, by the way, it's new years eve...\"\n\n==============================================================================\n\nThe Image of Evil (map 30)\n\n: This was to be the final showdown in Cabal.\nWanted to see how far I could take the design of the\nmap view with it. Cowards go IDBEHOLDA as soon as they\nenter. Good players will see it evolve.\n\n\"The Image of Evil is a humongous temple created\nto the honour of the first Demon to slay an angel;\nLithlaar. In it you will find the Cybo that now is\nknown as the lord of Hell and his two Soulguards.\"\n\n????????????????????????????????????????????????????\n??*Copyrights/Permissions*????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????\n????????????????????????????????????????????????????\n\nAuthors may not use these levels as a base to build additional levels.\nIt will be greatly appreciated if you distribute these WADs, provided you\ninclude this file, with no modifications."
